ETSY FRONT PAGE!!!!!!

When I got on the computer this morning, I found an email from my Etsy friend Lisa - www.JustCharming.etsy.com telling me that one of my necklaces was on the FRONT PAGE of Etsy!!! WOW, what a fantastic way to start the day!!! My necklace got 150+ views, 11 extra hearts and my shop got 15 new hearts, all from 1 hour on the front page!

(In case you can't see it, my necklace is in the middle of the bottom row, it is the pink and antique copper heart locket necklace.) Here's the treasury that made it to the front page, the curator of this is www.TheBlueDress.etsy.com a member of SATEAM, THANK YOU for picking my necklace to go in it! Well done to you, I bet you are so thrilled that your gorgeous treasury made it to the front page!

Custom Twilight Locket Bracelet

Here's some pics of my latest efforts, I had a customer ask for a Twilight locket bracelet, she wanted a smallish-sized heart-shaped silver locket hanging from a fine chain, some tiny charms or beads to depict the Twilight theme and a saying inside the heart locket from the Twilight novel. She wanted the saying covered with resin or something similar, and for the bracelet to have a vintage look to it. so I thought, 'O.k. how hard can this be?'
Famous last words!!!!
I had trouble finding the right sized locket in heart-shaped antique silver, if she had liked antique brass I would have had a million to choose from! I put an apple charm(for the Twilight image) on the locket and hung a gorgeous Swarovski crystal heart (for the heart Edward gave to Bella) and a ruby red Czech glass flower (to symbolize the color of blood for the vampire theme). Then I had to ask an Etsy graphics seller www.Jennifersbowsnmore.etsy.com if she could do a custom design for me, which she did, then I had to get her to change it to fit inside the little heart, I'm sure at least 6 times, poor thing, it probably felt like a 100 to her!! But I made a lovely new Etsy friend and we did a barter deal, she purchased one of my charm bracelets that I discounted for the work she had done for me. She is a lovely person and goes out of her way to make her customers happy and her prices are great too! (Thanks so much Jennifer!!)
Then came the fun part, trying to get the image to fit in the tiny heart and learning from making many mistakes how to use diamond glaze and microglaze!

As you can see I finally suceeded, I think the final result made it worth all the effort and frustration (and cursing!)
A HUGE THANKYOU to my wonderful patient customer also, who has waited for so long for this creation, and has never once been annoyed or impatient!!!

At least now if I had to make another, I have all the supplies needed and I know how to do it now! Underneath is a pic of the finished product that took a fair while to come about, waiting for the products to arrive from the U.S. and waiting for the glaze to dry (this took days!). Let me know what you think of the bracelet!!

My Favourite Bracelet (One of anyway!) That I've Made.

This is one of my favourite bracelets that I have made. I love it coz it's so girly and vintage! I love pink, flowers and hearts. This one I always intended to be totally girly and I love how it turned out. Now my 16 year old daughter wants one! She doesn't know if she wants purple with antique silver, or the original colors of pink and copper. Now I have to figure out how much to charge her for it! lol. This Hearts and Flowers Locket Bracelet is available to buy in my etsy store, I have free worldwide postage on all items! My Hearts and Flowers Locket Necklace.

When I made this necklace, I was determined to make a simple locket necklace, I wasn't going to add beaded sections along the chain, I wasn't going to add flowers to it, I wasn't going to add so much 'pink color' to it. But as you can see, I FAILED!! What can I say, I love PINK, I love FLOWERS and I love the combination of PINK and COPPER together!!! I just can't seem to do simple and when I do, I don't like it, it feels unfinished. Other designers can and funnily enough I love their simple designs, they don't look unfinished. Oh well, maybe I'll have another go at SIMPLE another day!!
The Hearts and Flowers Locket Necklace is my latest necklace listing on my etsy store, the beads along the double strands of fine antique copper chain are Czech glass milky pink melon beads and between these are gorgeous milky opal pink Czech glass bell flowers. From the front of the necklace, hangs a lovely antique copper locket. The locket is heart-shaped and fully functional, you can keep two photos of loved ones inside your heart! A tiny antique copper heart charm and a gorgeous opal pink flower adorn the front of the locket, turning it from a rather plain necklace into a lovely feminine piece of jewellery. You can view the necklace from more angles in my Etsy store.
